Nobody wants to miss out on anything when renovating their kitchen, especially since it’s probably the easiest time to install whatever gadgets and features you want. Here are six things to consider adding to your kitchen remodel that are sure to make your cooking life a bit easier.

Pot Filler

A faucet that swings out on a long arm, usually installed over or near a stove-top. It makes filling heavier pots much easier if your sink is placed too far or you have weak joints. But pot fillers aren’t just used for cooking purposes! As they’re an additional water source in your kitchen, use it for whatever H2O needs you may have, including getting water for your plants or filling up your kettle.

Kitchen Island

Installing a kitchen island provides additional counter space for food preparation, to use as a serving table, as a social space, for storage and much more. Islands can be customized to fit whatever your needs entail. Maybe you need more storage, or many you have nowhere else to install a dishwasher. You can introduce a secondary sink to help with cooking and cleaning up, or even another stove-top, if you have a large meal to cook for that is sure to include many pots and pans.

Corner Storage

Make every space in your kitchen count, especially when you’re already low on cabinets in general. Corner cabinets are usually one of those spaces that people close up, not know the potential of that massive space. Install a functioning door, a shelf or two, a rotating table, and you’ve just turned a dead space into one of your most useful.

Full Extension Drawers

It’s much easier to look through a deep set cabinet that’s stockpiled with items when the shelved can be pulled out. This makes it much easier to reach the kitchenware stored in the back, as opposed to blindly digging around. Drawers built with high sides and backs are ideal for stacking items like plates or bakeware, for easy and safe access.

Stainless Steel Rack

This is an inexpensive way to personalize your kitchen while also adding functionality. Installed along the wall or under a cabinet, hang whatever tools you use most frequently. Be it pots and pans, cooking utensils or small potted herbs, choose anything your style calls for. Hanging kitchenware allows for easy access while freeing up cabinet space you may be tight on.

Enclosed Trash Bin

Garbage and recycling bins take up unnecessary floor space in what may already be a small kitchen layout. It doesn’t help that, with food sitting in them for days, your garbage can in particular, will start to smell. If you have trash that’s easily accessible to pets, then you may have a mess on your hands constantly. Custom cabinets can be designed with compartments that hold your waste containers. Just don’t forget to empty them!
